Tap "Set up the filter" in the app. For security, iOS asks you to do the last step yourself: Settings → General → VPN, DNS & Device Management → DNS → select "Watchover". This is a one-time step; it won't ask again.

Yes, this is deliberate. For the lock duration you chose, the app cannot be deleted and protection cannot be removed — to stop protection being switched off in a moment of urge. When the time is up it frees itself. If you have a supporter and you ask, they can open the lock before its time.

The protected person taps "Get a pairing code" in the app and gives you the 6-digit code, which is valid for 1 hour. You install Watchover on your own phone, choose "For someone close to me" and enter the code. Or you create an invite on your own phone and send it to them; it's valid for 7 days, and the link forms when they install the app and accept it. If their protection is switched off, you're told within minutes, even when the app is closed.

Make sure notifications are allowed on the supporter's phone (Settings → Notifications → Watchover). Even if you miss one, it collects under the bell icon in the app.

Settings → (your Apple ID) → Subscriptions, select Watchover and cancel. Silencing gambling SMS, the Safari backup line and the urge screen stay free; site blocking, the supporter link and the locks are Premium.
